The Venue
Since its opening on April 26, 1992, the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center has been an integral part of the cultural and entertainment life of county and state residents. map | seating chart
The hall was carefully designed and constructed to provide an intimate experience for up to 1,050 people. There are 18 rows of seats on the stage level and seven rows of seats in the balcony. The the hall lives up to its reputation as not having a bad seat in the house.
The magnificent stage has met the needs of a demanding array of performances from international ballet companies, full symphonic orchestras, to individual artists.
The first concert to open the new center in 1992 was the Phoenix Symphony presented by the Yavapai Symphony Association. In 1993 YSA partnered with the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center in the purchase of the center’s 1st concert grand piano. YSA provided $40,000 for the purchase. In 2011 YSA donated $3,000 to Yavapai College in support of refurbishment to the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center.
Among those who have graced the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center stage are The Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Izthak Perlman, Sir James Galway, Andre Watts, Paul Anka, Anne Murray, Gordon Lightfoot, Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, Mel Tillis, Johnny Rivers, Mel Torme, The Academy of St Martin In The Fields, Sarah Chang, the Vienna Choir Boys, Mark Russell, The Kingston Trio, The Smothers Brothers, Paula Poundstone and Wayne Newton.
IMPORTANT – The Performing Arts Center is now requiring that all handbags and backpacks will be screened prior to entering the venue. Prohibited items are weapons, outside food and beverages, water bottles (full or empty), bags larger than 15″x12″, and smoking and vaping. Cell phone and camera use is also restricted during performances. Failure to abide by the above restrictions will result in denial of entry into the facility.
