Notes From The President

YAVAPAI SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION
March 29, 2026 PRESIDENT’S NOTES

The YSA Board of Directors joins me in welcoming you our sixth
concert of our 2025–2026 Concert Season. This afternoon we are
delighted to be welcoming the second appearance of the Phoenix
Symphony in this season. We will be enjoying the much-anticipated
Egmont Overture by Ludwig Van Beethoven, the beautiful and
melodious Variations on a Theme of Haydn by Johannes Brahms and
concluding with Antonín Dvořák’s 7th Symphony.

We hope you are looking forward to our next concert on Sunday May
24th, when we bring The Curtis Institute of Music Chamber Orchestra
to you, featuring Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Sinfonia Concertante by
Mozart and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 16.

Now that “Tax Day” is almost here, I hope you might find the opportunity
to consider a donation to the Yavapai Symphony Association, to help us
to continue our programs of fine classical music that have been a part
of the Prescott cultural scene since 1966. We also encourage you to
support our ongoing music scholarship program, which has provided
some $300,000 in financial help to dozens of Yavapai County students
since 2009.

Above all, thank you for attending and enjoying today!

Chip Shay, President
Yavapai Symphony Association
