Notes From The President
YAVAPAI SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION
NOVEMBER 19, 2024 PRESIDENT’S NOTES
The YSA Board of Directors join me in welcoming you to the third
concert of our 2024-2025 season. Tonight, we are featuring the
acclaimed concert pianist Michelle Cann. Lauded as “exquisite”
by The Philadelphia Inquirer and “a pianist of sterling artistry” by
Gramophone, Michelle Cann has become one of the most sought-after
pianists of her generation. She made her debut with The Philadelphia
Orchestra in 2021 and has recently performed concertos with The
Cleveland Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra.
We hope you are looking forward to our next concert, after the first of
the year, on Thursday evening January 16th, when we will be welcoming
the world renowned and highly acclaimed Dover Sting Quartet,
bringing you works by Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Tchaikovsky.
In this program, you can find a page about the Yavapai Symphony
Association Music Scholarship Awards. This is a significant way in
which YSA helps perpetuate classical music, by supporting Yavapai
County students who seek musical careers. If you know a student who
fits this profile, please tell them about our scholarships. Details are on
our website, yavapaisymphony.org.
Our concerts this season are supported by the generosity of our
corporate sponsor, Findlay Prescott Subaru. We look forward to a
continuing relationship with this organization that is committed to
supporting classical music in the greater Prescott area.
